an independent software group
Himio is an independent software group focused in open source applications, their developing and distribuing.
We cooperate with schools (project DevContest), non-profit organizations (Club Alfa), educational games (Matematico) etc.
Then we write for e-magazins about computer sciences and programming (Programujte.com) or for blogs (Glor.cz). We also support turistic club "Tchorici".
DevContest is a project of contest server. It is based on framework Pylons and language Python.
This project provide an easy server for teachers of computer science and programming. They prepare a competition in this server - some task of actually topic (arrays, loops, sorting).
Students write their own program, send source code to server and server evaluates if it is valid on given inputs.
You can try it online just now.
Blog on Glor.cz is a personal diary of Juda Kaleta written in Czech. He writes about his trips (to Ukraine, Sumava mountain, Switz), inserts a lot of snaps and stories about those places.
The other topic of the blog is programming and math - you can read tutorials about basics in Python, LaTeX etc. or about math and about combination of these two things.
Matematico is very simple game with numbers, but if you don't like maths don't worry! You have a grid, five columns, five rows. You are balloting numbers and putting them into the grid.
Of course, you have a goal. In the end you must have specific combinations in grid, for example three identic numbers in the line or row, two couples etc.
If you play this game with more players there is a lot of fun. Try it!
